The department of Travel and Tourism of St. Albert’s college started functioning in the year 2019. The department offers three-year vocational degree course in Travel and Tourism, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and has attained increasing recognition as a crucial sector with enormous potential for generating employment. B.voc Travel and Tourism is a work integrated degree programme which is more focused on providing the industry related skills to the students so that they can get better opportunities.
Students of the department play a prominent role in organizing innovative events and programs. A platform for hands on training in the form of internship and on-the-job training in various organization help students to apply their theoretical knowledge and prepare them to face challenges of job market.

The vision of the department is to provide quality oriented teaching that may bring out the potentiality of the students and thereby become a leading provider of tourism related education, supporting the growth of country’s tourism industry.

The mission of the department of Travel and Tourism is to become an agent for providing quality educational services and training programmes to develop competent and quality human resource for Travel and Tourism industry, taking into account of the present and futuristic requirements of the tourism sector.

Welcome to the department of travel and tourism, St. Albert’s college (Autonomous), Ernakulam. Tourism industry in India is significant for the country’s economy and are growing rapidly. So it is important to generate manpower sufficient to meet the needs of the tourism industry. With a vision to provide quality oriented teaching that may bring out the potentiality of the students and thereby become a leading provider of tourism related education, supporting the growth of country’s tourism industry, the department started functioning in the year 2019. We runs a bachelor degree (B.Voc) program in travel and tourism management with a vision of providing students with a balance of intellectual and practical experiences in tourism sector which enables them to be the experts which tourism industry demands. The department has well qualified and dedicated faculty members immensely try to provide quality education, tuning the young mind to make them globally competitive and presentable in the industry. The department gives exposure to students about the regular curriculum as well as prepares them to face the challenges of today’s corporate world by inculcating a professional attitude in them. The Department of B.Voc Tourism and Travel Management rigorously follows ‘Outcome Based Education’ in its approach of imparting teachings. We ensure that students are abreast with the latest technologies through our regular teaching learning process and additional enrichment programs. In keeping with the policy of excellence in education, we have also collaborated with tourism industry service providers like paradise holidays and Harbour hotels, which provides our students an opportunity to exchange views about industry and academics, develop multi-cultural sensitivities and gain global exposure.
