The blessing and inauguration of the new Administrative and Academic Blocks of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam was done by the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil, Metropolitan Archbishop of Verapoly. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Rev. Dr. Antony Thoppil, Chairman and Manager, Dr. M A Solomon, Principal, Rev. Fr. John Christopher Vadassery and other faculty, non teaching staff, NCC Cadets and students.
Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Kalathiparambil also distributed the Archbishop Joseph Attipetty Memorial Scholarships for B. Voc students and the Archbishop Daniel Acharuparambil Memorial Scholarships for MBA students during this special occasion.
WOMEN ICON AWARD 2022
Office of the Dean Training and Development; Social Outreach in association with the Albertian Foundation organised Woman Icon Award 2022 function to present the various awards and prizes in connection with the International Women’s Day Celebrations 2022 #IWD2022 with the theme #BreakTheBias on Tuesday 22nd March 2022 at Mellano Hall, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam.

Department of Social Work ,St.Albert’s College organized Women’s Day Observation on different communities inErnakulam and Palakad District and palliative care centers in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts on 8th March 2022 as a part of Field Work Curriculum and Rural Camp. The programmes Combined with Theme dance ,Games,cake cuttings, honoring the women achievers, Life experience sharing and so on The Social Work trainee made their day special by focusing the empowerment of the women from grass root level with the theme ( please mention this year theme)
AKS 2022 – Department of Economics
The Post Graduate Department of Economics of St. Albert’s college (Autonomous) Ernakulam, conducted the second day of its virtual conference as part of Albertian Knowledge Summit 2022, on 7th March 2022. The event had two lectures and paper presentations.
The morning session started at 11:00 AM. Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra, Associate Professor, School of Economics, University of Hyderabad, Telangana, India, delivered the special lecture on “Urbanization and City Policy Responses to Covid- 19”. The talk discussed about the impact of Covid-19 on Urbanization, city policy, planning and development.
The afternoon session started at 1:30 PM with the paper presentations. There were three presentations. The paper presentations focused on the broad areas of self-reliance and economic development, entrepreneurship development, urbanization and inequality.
The evening session began at 5:30 PM with the lecture by Dr. Vamsi Vakulabharanam, Associate Professor of Economics, University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA, on “Indian Inequality Since Independence: A Tale of Two Classes”.
The event concluded by 7:00 PM. The day had attendees from academia, industry and business in addition to the three UG and two PG classes of the Department.

As a part of Albertian Knowledge Summit (AKS) – 2022, on 10-02-2022, Department of Mathematics, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam arranged a talk on “Analytics: Application of common sense”, by an eminent personality TATHAGATA BANDYOPADHAYA, Retired Professor, IIM, Ahmedabad. The Dr. Sabu M C, Head of Mathematics Department, other faculty members and students from Mathematics department took part in the session.
The meeting started at 10.00 a.m with a silent prayer. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Sabu M C. Sr. Rincy Varghese of 2nd M Sc Mathematics welcomed the gathering . This was followed by Dr. Sabu M C introducing the speaker to the audience. The chief guest was invited to speak after the introduction. Prof. Tathagata Bandyopadhaya gave a very informative and enlightening session on the topic. His words of wisdom helped to magnify the listeners’ knowledge. He explained about the Fermi problem, Salt and statistics, a true story from ‘Statistic and truth’ by C R Rao and gave an idea on how statistics helps in reaching the truth. Following this, an interactive session was allowed and the doubts were clarified. After this lively session, the meeting came to an end with a few words of thanks by Dr Binu M. This event was followed by paper presentations by two teachers. Ms. Aiswarya S Sasidharan presented a paper entitled “Maximum Mass for an Exact Superdense Star Model” and Ms. Soubhagya S Prabhu presented a paper entitled “Semi Parametric Estimation Of Time To Test Transform For Lomax Distribution”. The event was closed by 11.25 a.m.

As a part of Albertian Knowledge Summit (AKS) – 2022, on 10-02-2022, Department of Mathematics, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam arranged a talk on “Navier Stokes Equations – The Million Dollar Problem”, by an eminent personality Dr. Manil T Mohan, Department of Mathematics, IIT Roorkee. Dr. Sabu M C, Head, Department of Mathematics, other faculty members and students from Mathematics department took part in the session.
The meeting started at 9.30 a.m with a silent prayer. The meeting was hosted by Dr. Sabu M C. Dr. Binu M and Dr. Anto A M were the staff coordinators. Ms. Ritty Jacob welcomed the gathering. This was followed by an introduction speech about the chief guest by Dr. Anto A M. The chief guest was invited to speak after the introduction. Dr. Manil T Mohan gave a very informative and enlightening session on the topic. He explained about the fundamental equations of fluid dynamics. He also introduced the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations and its properties. He also explained the Millenium Prize problem. He also gave an idea of formal calculus energy and how we can obtain pressure from Navier-Stokes equations. Following this, an interactive session was allowed and the doubts were clarified. After this lively session, the meeting came to an end with a few words of thanks by Dhanya Joy, II M.Sc. Mathematics. Mary Nevya Joseph and Meera P of II M.Sc. Mathematics were the student coordinators. The session ended by 10:30 am.

Day 1
On Day 1 the Department of Business Administration conducted the Albertian Knowledge Summit 2022 on March 7th and 8th.The program was as followed inaugurated by Dr. Fr. Antony Thoppil (Chairman) and our Chief Guest was Joanna Zukowska, Warsaw School of economics, Poland delivered the talk about Coaching as a tool for supporting management. Dr. Anil Yasin also delivered the speech.

On Day 2, the resource persons Dr. Kavitha Yadhav, Associate Professor Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi. Kristina Klausen Founder and Chief Executive Officer Panda Tree LLC, Paloalto, California, Dr. Sharan Kumar Shetty also delivered the speech.
AKS 2022 – Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture
The Research Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture convened the Albertian Knowledge Summit (AKS 2022) on March 4th, 2022. The inaugural session was commenced at 10.00 am on 4th march 2022 in Google Zoom platform with a prayer song sung by Mrs. Anjala Anju (Final year B.Sc. Aquaculture student). Dr. Bijoy V. M., (HoD, RDFA),
delivered the welcome speech to all the dignitaries and other participants of the conference. Dr. M. A. Solomon, Principal, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), conveyed the Principal’s address and stressed on the importance of conducting the conference. Rev. Fr. John Christopher Vadassery, Registrar, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), provided the felicitations and reminded the student community to utilize such opportunities for the overall
development of the society. The keynote address was followed thereafter by respected Mr. John Dallas Mosig (Chief Guest of the function), Aquaculture Services, Victoria, Australia. The keynote address of the Chief Guest, Mr. John Dallas Mosig, commenced immediately after the speeches of the dignitaries. The speaker was introduced by the student coordinators, Ms. Aleena Benny and Sreemol. Mr. John Dallas Mosig, with his vast experience in the subject explained the latest technological advancements in the fisheries sector. He pointed out the importance Recirculatory Aquaculture Systems (RAS), Biofloc Technology, Parameters to be addressed in better fish production and the problems related to overfishing and sustainability. During the discussion session, the resource person cleared all
the doubts asked by students and staff regarding the topic. The session was well appreciated by all the participants attended the program. The session was come to an end at 11.30 am with a vote of thanks from Ms. Hamia Stanny Noronha (M.Sc. AFA student).
The second session started at 12.00 pm on the topic “Use of fish waste as animal feed and beyond” by Dr. A.A Zynudheen, Principal Scientist and Head (i/c), Quality Assurance and Management Division, CIFT, Kochi on Google meet platform. Ms. Abhirami Subhash (Asst. Professor, RDFA) carried out the speaker introduction. The resource person has provided detailed information regarding fish waste, fish feed development from fish waste and its nutritional values. Doubts raised by the students and staff members about the topic were cleared and well explained by the speaker. Vote of thanks for the speaker was delivered by Mrs. Sangamithra E. R (Asst. Professor, B.Voc, RDFA). Session ended up at .1.00 pm.
Third session starts at 1.30 pm on the topic “Indian aquaculture- Present Status and
Future Strategies” by Dr. Chaithanya Devaprabha, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Marine Biology, Biochemistry and Microbiology, CUSAT. Dr. Sangeetha M. S. (Asst. Professor, RDFA) has given a detailed introduction of the resource person. The speaker explained about extensive, semi intensive and intensive aquaculture practices, RAS, integrated farming, crab farming, cage culture and PMMSY funded ornamental fish culture etc. The speaker provided
clarifications regarding the questions raised by the participants and faculty members. The session ended up with vote of thanks by Dr. Jithu Paul Jacob (Asst. Professor, RDFA) at 2.30 pm.
Fourth session included the research paper presentations from students, research scholars and faculty members of the host institution as well as from the outside institutions. Ms. Migheya Rivyra (Second year B.Sc. Aquaculture) has delivered the speaker introduction. The first paper presentation was by Mr. Dheeran Paneer, PhD Scholar, Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, in the topic “Importance of Passive Integrated Transponders in Fisheries”, was highly relevant and informative as well. The second paper presentation was from Mrs. Preethi Francis, Asst. Professor, RDFA, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), on the topic “Wetlands and its importance in fisheries, was
informative as well as impressive. Several participants raised question during the discussion session and was well explained by the speaker. The third paper presentation was by Mr. Vishnu R Nair from the Research Department of
Fisheries and Aquaculture on “Applications of Bacillus species in Aquaculture” was useful and application oriented. The queries raised by the participants were highly important and the same was well explained by the speaker. The session ended up at 4.00 pm with vote of thanks by Ms. Abhirami Subhash (Asst. Professor, RDFA)
AKS 2022 – Department of Renewable Energy
St. Albert’s college (Autonomous ), Ernakulam organized Albertian Knowledge Summit (AKS 2022), an international conference on multidisciplinary research with the aim to provide a forum for academicians and professionals from multidisciplinary areas to network and share knowledge.
As a part of AKS – 2022, the department of Renewable Energy organized an international conference comprising of 2 webinars of international resource persons. Dr. Jerin Mohan N D, HOD& Asst. Professor and Mr. Alex Jose, Asst. Professor convened and coordinated AKS-Renewable Energy 2022 . The invention entitled as Intelligent IoT based Smart Irrigation System using Cloud Computing. This invention aims to reduce the efforts of farmers by integrating Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing in the field of Agricultural sector.
