A Report on Social Outreach Program conducted by Department of Travel and Tourism on 4th August 2021 at  Ambadi Seva Kendra, Thrikkapuram, PO, Kottuvally Road, Kaitharam South, North Paravur, Kerala.

( students from LKG to Degree sections). We got an opportunity to work for this orphanage as a part of a Social Outreach Program conducted by our Department of Travel and Tourism.We students from Department of Travel and Tourism worked in cordination by our HOD Prof.Arya M S to help the students of Ambadi Seva Kendra by providing study materials such as notebooks,pencils,pens and other study equipments. Those materials were handed over to the Orphanage authority by our HOD Prof.Arya MS and Second Year B.Voc Travel and Tourism students on 4th August 2021.

All the students of our department happily and enthusiastically co-operated with us and we collected a small amount of fund for individual contribution.Then we bought all the necessary study materials which would be helpful for the children for their academics. By this initiative taken under our HOD Prof.Arya M S, all faculties, and our department of Travel and Tourism and the orphanage authorities for giving us the chance to indulge in a social activity will help us to take more social initiatives in future.

A REPORT OF SOCIAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRAVEL AND TOURISM –“JOURNEY OF LOVE”

We the students of the Department of Travel and Tourism in association with the Albertian Foundation, St. Albert’s College(Autonomous), Ernakulam conducted a social outreach program named “Journey of Love” as part of the Christmas celebration. In coordination with our HOD Prof.Arya M S and tutors, we succeeded this program, as student representatives Rohith Chandrashekharan and Jazar O N  with full interest initiated this program. On 24th December 2021, we reached out to people who are homeless and poor with gifts of Christmas such as cake, chocolates, etc as a share of love and happiness. As students of Travel and Tourism, this made our Christmas more colorful and memorable by making others happy as part of the Christmas celebration.

Swachh bharat abhiyan October 2019

             As part of the college Platinum Jubilee celebration St. Albert’s College, Autonomous has conducted a one-week Swachh Bharath Mission. Swachh Bharath Mission is a nationwide campaign in India from the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, infrastructure, and roads towns urban and rural areas. Department of Travel and Tourism has participated in the event starting with the seminar by the students . Sravan C Binnu and BenAdams have presented their seminar on the topic “Personal Hygiene”.  Students actively engaged in cleaning campaign and was a grand success

Heritage site cleaning campaign conducted by Department of Travel and Tourism on World Tourism Day Report

As part of the world tourism day celebrations, on 27th September 2019, the Department of Travel and Tourism in association with Department of Retail Management has conducted a cleaning campaign at the heritage centre in Fort Kochi (St. Francis church to Vasco Da Gama square). The Programme was started with a flash mob by the students of both the departments by 3.00 p.m. The campaign was inaugurated by the councillor of Kochi, Mrs Shiny Mathew followed by a speech highlighting the importance of cleanliness. Mr.  Peter Prakash(Sub-inspector of police), Mr P A Ouseph (Assistant Sub-inspector of police), Mrs Arya M S Head of the Department (Dept. Travel & Tourism and Dept. of Retail Management, St. Alberts College Autonomous) has given out their messages for students regarding tourism day. 82 students as well as the foreigners joined the campaign. Assistant professors Amala Mary K S, Jilu Antony, Nikitha Shaji Thomas, Arya M S were in charge of the programme.
