Visit to Old Age Home on every Saturday

“Old age is also called the second childhood and is a time when one needs love and care of the near and dear.” As a part of department extension activities ,the students of the Mathematics department visited the old age home, Santhwana Bhavan ‘,Cheranalloor and spent at least three hours helping them in bathing ,cleaning ,feeding etc. It was a good opportunity for the students to serve them. At the time of Christmas, students collected bedsheets, paste, soap etc and handed them to the inmates of the old age home.

Awareness campaign at Koonammavu Public Library

Second Year MSc students cleaned the walls of the Public Library and portrayed awareness pictures on green protocol and against substance abuse.

GIFT OF MAGI

On 23rd December, the Department of Mathematics in association with Albertian Foundation organised the programme ‘Gift Of Magi’ to help the inhabitants of Santhwana Bhawan-Old age Home, Cheranalloor. Management, teachers, non-teaching staff and some students of St. Albert’s

College,Ernakulam ,contributed some of the everyday necessary items like soaps , toothbrushes, towels etc. Prof. Jeema Jose and Prof. Dr. Sajitha Mony handed over all the received gifts to Sr. Reena, Mother Superior, Santhwana Bhawan .

2018-’19

ONAM CELEBRATION WITH INMATES OF HOME OF FAITH

The Department of Mathematics decided to celebrate Onam with the inmates of Home of Faith at Chittethukara on 11^th August 2018. Teachers with 150 students of the department reached there at 11 am.

The teachers and students received a warm welcome from the authority and inmates. PG students made a pookkalam in front of the corridor. Meanwhile other students interacted with the inmates.

Official Programme started at 11.00 am. Kum. Sreelakshmi of III BSc Mathematics welcomed the gathering. Prof. Edwin Tomson and Dr. Sabu M.C. felicitated the occasion. Smt. Jeema Jose proposed Vote of thanks.

Students performed some nadanpaattu, Thiruvathira and group dance during the celebration and that made the inmates and students enthusiastic and happy. The inmates also performed nadanpattu and cinematic dance. The students distributed the gifts which they have brought for the inmates.

After the ona-Sadhya the celebration came to an end by 2.00 pm.

X’ MAS CELEBRATION WITH INMATES OF OLD AGE HOME AT CHERANELLORE

The Department of Mathematics decided to visit inmates of the Old Age Home at Cheranellore on 20-12-2018. All PG students and representatives from each class reached there at 11.30 am. We received a warm welcome from the authority and inmates. We interacted with the inmates and entertained them by songs and dances. We present a trolly to the mother superior of the convent for the inmates.

2017-’18

ONAM CELEBRATION WITH INMATES OF KARUNALAYAM

The Department of mathematics decided to celebrate Onam with the inmates of Karunalayam at Mundampalam on 29^th August 2017. All the teachers with 150 students of the department reached there at 11 AM.

The teachers and students received a warm welcome from the authority and inmates.

Students performed some nadan paattu during the celebration and that made the inmates and students enthusiastic and happy.

The inmates also performed nadan pattu followed by programs of the students. Students arranged some interesting games for the inmates.

An interactive session was arranged between the students of the college and inmates.

Dr. M.L Joseph, the Principal of St. Albert’s college also joined with us. He gave Onam message on that occasion.

After the ona-Sadhya the students distributed the gifts which they have brought for the inmates and the celebration came to an end by 3.00 PM.

2016-’17

Onam celebration with inmates of Mercy Home

The Department of Mathematics decided to celebrate Onam with the inmates of Mercy Home on 6^th September 2016. All the teachers with 125 students of the department reached there at 10.30 AM.The teachers and students received a warm welcome from the authority and inmates.

Students performed some nadanpaattu during the celebration and that made the inmates and students enthusiastic and happy.The inmates also performed nadanpattu followed by programs of the students. Students arranged some interesting games for the inmates.

An interactive session was arranged between the students of the college and inmates.Dr. M.L Joseph, the Principal of St. Albert’s college also joined with us.
