2020-’21
The PTA Meeting of first year students of B.com Co-operation, B.voc Professional Accounting & Taxation and M.com was conducted on 1st February, 2021.The meeting was held at Melano Hall,St.Albert’s College. The meeting commenced at 11 a.m. & it began with a prayer by Joseph Ivin (student of B.com Co-operation) in the presence of Ms. Simi Xavier (HOD of Commerce SF Department), Ms. Amrutha Santhosh (Class Tutor,B.com Co-operation) & respective other faculties. Ms. Simi Xavier (HOD) discussed about the rules & regulations regarding the college & the matters of academics. Ms.Amrutha Santhosh(Class Tutor)conveyed the details regarding the upcoming semester examinations. The self-introduction session of faculty teachers & students including their parents were also conducted. The main discussion of the meeting was about the challenges of online classes due to the present pandemic situation. In the meeting two parent PTA representatives were also elected and it came to an end by taking class photo with students, parents and teachers. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Asst. Professor, Ms. Dayana Xavier.
The Department organized the PTA Meeting for First MCom Students on 2nd February 2021 in Melano Hall. Six Faculties represented the Department backed by 14 Students and their Parents. Ms. Keerthana Rajkumar (I M.Com Student) was the Master of the Ceremony. The event started off with a Prayer Song by Ms. Karthika Kunjumon (I M.Com Student). Head of the Department, Dr. Tia Mathews welcomed the gathering and Professor, Sri. Sharan Hilary delivered the Tutor’s addressing. Each student of the I M.Com Class introduced themselves and they all were very happy to enter and to see the teachers, the department and the College campus. The event wenton really well till the end and it was an open platform to share opinions and concerns regarding the Online Classes, Upcoming Semester Exams and measures by which Teachers as well as Students, overcoming this Pandemic situation considering the Teacher – Parent – Student relationship.In total the Open House went on really fruitful and by it came to an end on a good note adding a Vote of Thanks by Professor, Sri. Sharan Hilary.
2019-’20
The first parents teachers meeting for the first year B com students was conducted by the Department (regular)on 4th November 2019. The welcome address was done by Dr.Tia Mathews, the Head of the Department and the inaugural speech was delivered by the former Head of the Department Prof.Lazar Thomas Mani. He made a great interactive session with the gathered parents and briefed about the activities and also explained how the department offers the best learning environment for the students. Subsequently student’s attendance, academic performance has been presented to the parents by the faculty members.
