A chemist can’t think of a life without experiments. “Coronam 2020” was such an experimental attempt by the Department of Chemistry to celebrate Onam online during the pandemic. Coronam 2020 was a week long program that went from the 22nd to the 30th of August, 2020.
A Flower Carpet Competition, both natural and digital was conducted on the 22nd. A Cartoon Making competition was conducted on the 24th and a Poster Making competition on the 25th. This was followed by an Onappattu competition on the 26th, a Memory Video competition on the 27th, an Onakkavitha competition on the 28th, a Malayali Manka-Purusha Kesari competition on the 29th and a Selfie with Pookkalam competition on the 30th of August, 2020.
The Department of Chemistry and Research Centre celebrated “Chem-Onam 2020” with great enthusiasm on 29th August, 2020 on Google Meet. Dr. Nisha V.S, the Staff Coordinator provided the details of all competitions held from the 22nd to the 30th of August and announced the winners. Onam messages were shared by Prof. P A Jerald, Former Head of the Department, Mr. Josemon M D, Alumnus and Dr. Vijay John Gerson, Head of the Department of Chemistry. Various fun games were organized for teachers and students. The student coordinator of the event was Ms. Joyce Jose.
