Centre for Academic Leadership and Education Management (CALEM), under the scheme of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission of Teachers and Teaching (PMMMMNMTT), Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, UP and in association with St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) organised 4 day National Level Academic Leadership Training Programme. The Academic Leadership Training Programme was meant for Vice Chancellors, Pro Vice Chancellors, Directors, Deans, Chair Persons, Principals, Vice Principals, Coordinators and Head of the Departments. 64 academic leaders from different state in Indian participated in the programme.

Day 1 – 9th April 2019
The first technical session was lead by Prof. (Dr.) Gabriel Simon Thattil, Director, IQAC, University of Kerala on “Quality Assurance, Accreditation and Enhancement”. The second technical session was also lead by Prof. (Dr.) Gabriel Simon Thattil, Director, IQAC, University of Kerala on “Institutional Ranking: Indian and International Perspectives”. Third session on “Curriculum, Curricular Development and Pedagogy” was lead by Prof. Dr. M.A. Sudhir, UGC Emeritus, Dept. of Education, Gandhigram Rural Institute. The last session of the day on “Technology and Innovations in Teaching and Learning” was also lead by Prof. (Dr.) M.A. Sudhir.

Day 2 – 10th April 2019
The Vth technical session lead by Prof. (Dr.) S Rajitha Kumar, Finance Officer, CUSAT was on “Budgetary Process and Strategies for Effective Resource Mobilisation“. The VIth technical was on “Internationalisation and Collaborations” by Prof. (Dr.) Saju K K, Director, International Relations and Academic Admissions, CUSAT. VIIth Technical session on “Student Support Services and Placement, Grievances Redressal & Handling Student Issues” was lead by Dr. Sonny Jose, Head, Department of Social Work, Loyola College of Social Sciences, Trivandrum. The VIIIth session was on “Conflict Resolutions & Management / Distributed Leadership & Diffusions of Autonomous. VIIIth Technical session on “Conflict Resolutions & Management / Distributed Leadership & Diffusion of Authority” was lead by Dr. Sonny Jose, Head, Department of Social Work, Loyola College of Social Sciences, Trivandrum .

Day 3 – 11th April 2019
IXth Technical Session on “Handling Student Diversity and Coping with Stress” was lead by Dr. Edward Edezhath, former Syndicate Member Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit . Xth Session was on “Use of ICT and Process Reforms for Improved Internal Governance” by Very Rev. Fr. Antony Arackal, Chairman and Manager, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous). XIth and XIIth Sessions was lead by Prof. Dr. Zakkariya K.A., Director DDU Koushal Kendra, CUSAT on “Effective Leadership and Strategic Planning” and “Building Teams and Strengthening Alliances: Managing External Stakeholders” respectively.

Day 4th – 12th April 2019
Technical Session XIII and XIVth was lead by Shri. T P Sreenivasan IFS, Former Indian Ambassador and Former Chairman, KSHEC on “Reforms and New Initiatives in Higher Education” and “Interface with Regulatory Bodies” respectively. XVth session on “Balancing Accountability and Autonomy for Effective Governance” was lead by Prof. (Dr.) D. Mavooth, Director, School of Management Studies, CUSAT. Last session – XVI was on “Experience Sharing and Implementation of Ideas“. Dr. M.C. Dileep Kumar, Former Vice Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit and Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed to be University and Prof. Leslie J Pallath, former Principal, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous).

Valedictory Ceremony was presided by Rev. Fr. Joseph Sherin Chemmayath, Vice Chairman and Assistant Manager of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous). Very Rev. Msgr. Mathew Elanjimattom, Vicar General of Archdiocese of Verapoly inaugurated the ceremony and awarded the certificates for the participants. Rev. Fr. Jolly John Odathakal,
