The NSS Unit No. 32 of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam conducted an online meeting as part of the Independence Day celebrations 2020, on the 15th of August. A video was presented based on the ‘History of the Independence’ and a flag hoisting ceremony was also conducted through the online platform. Dr. Nelson Rodrigues, Principal, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) inaugurated the event and shared his views on Independence Day. The programme officer Prof. Sebastian A V addressed the meeting and inspired the volunteers to achieve their goals. Prof. Sumisha E S and the NSS Secretaries also presided over the meeting. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
As part of the celebrations, the NSS volunteers remembered 74 freedom fighters who died for the country. Each volunteer held a picture of a freedom fighter and made a video including all the pictures. The volunteers tried to take in the spirit of the national heroes and use it as a weapon against the contemporary obstacles of society.
