The Department of Zoology, Medical Care Committee and NSS unit of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam in association with The Giridhar Eye Institute organized a webinar on Eye Care During Covid on 27th August, 2020, as a part of the National Eye Donation fortnight. The session was handled by Dr. Prashob Mohan, Medical Director of Swarnam Eye Bank and Consultant of Cornea and Refractive surgery. He talked about the steps to be followed to take care of our eyes during this time of Covid. He said that posthumous eye-donation is the noblest contribution towards the welfare of humanity. He appealed to the students to come forward and take a pledge to donate their eyes. Mr. Riyasudheen, the chief counsellor of Swarnam Eye bank shared the link to take the Pledge online. Participants cleared their doubts regarding eye care and eye donation with the resource person. This event was highly informative and changed the perspective of many people regarding eye donation.
