As part of the Bridge Course being conducted for the first year students of the Department, several luminaries and eminent academics from the field of academics were invited to deliver introductory lectures related to some of the major areas of English literature.
On October 28th, 2020 the session on “History of the Novel” was led by Ms. Anet Treesa Joseph who was formerly with Newman College, Thodupuzha. The talk took the students through the stages of inception, growth and development of the novel form. The second invited talk for the Bridge Course was delivered by Dr. Appu Jacob John, Assistant Professor, CMS College, Kottayam on the “History of English Literature” wherein the speaker took the students on a historical journey, helping them to see how literature has developed alongside the historical happenings in each of the ages. This talk was held on October 30, 2020.
