The Department of Renewable Energy, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam in collaboration with The Albertian Center for Culture and Heritage Organised a Christmas Card and Christmas Star Making Competitions as a part of Christmas Celebrations 2020.  The Competition was open to both School and College students. The Greeting Card had to be hand drawn/painted or made using recyclable material. Ms. Evana Mariya Paul from St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam and Ms. Arathy Bejoy from St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam shared the first prize for the Inter collegiate Christmas Card Making Competition. Ms. Megha Alexander of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam and Ms. Angel Mariya Aju of St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam bagged the second place for the same. Ms. Vrinda Vijayan and Ms. Cinderella K.C from St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam shared the third place for the Card Making Competition. Ms. Anu Antony, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, Christ (Deemed to be) University, Bangalore was the judge for the competition.

Ms. Ezhill Makizhavarthini from Hill Valley Higher Secondary School, Thrikkakara won the First Place in the Interschool Christmas Card Making Competition. Ms. Ardra A V from St. Antony’s L P School, Vaduthala bagged the second place and Ms. Prasanthi Pramod, Bhavans Adarsha Vidyalaya, Kakkanad bagged the third place for the same.

Ms. Ezhill Makizhavarthini from Hill Valley Higher Secondary School, Thrikkakara won the first place in the Inter School Star Making Competition. Ms. Rushanka Joseph from ICLES Motilal Jhunjhunwala College, Vashi, Mumbai won the First place in the Intercollegiate Christmas Card Making Competition. Ms. Lakshmi Balakrishnan from St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam won the second place and Ms. Vennavaram Anusha of St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, Hyderabad won the third place for the Star making Competition. Ms. Pearl Antonette Mendez, Assistant Professor, Department of Renewable Energy was the Staff coordinator for the Competitions. Ms. Evangline Ruth and Ms. Sandra Baby were the Student coordinators for the same.

The Staff of the Department of Renewable Energy, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam visited Providence Home following the Covid-19 protocol on 23December, 2020 and handed over Christmas Gifts for the members of Providence Home to the Mother Superior. The Gift Box included Towels, Tooth Brushes and Pastes, Talcum Powder, Soaps, and essential medicines. The visit to the old-age home was a truly fulfilling experience.
