The Department of Commerce (SF) organised an online Discussion Forum ā€“ Inspire 2020 on Transgender rights as part of the celebration of World Population Day, on 14th July, 2020. It focused on providing a platform for people to talk about their inspiring stories and provide the students a sense of motivation and encouragement to get through hard times.

The speaker for the event was Ms. Sana Suman, transgender activist who fights for gender identity and founding member of Swatantra Organization, Karnataka. She is the first member of the transgender community to obtain higher education in India.

The event was followed by a session for questions and answer from the participants. The outcome of the programme was to inculcate a sense of inclusivity in the minds of students in the society. The event was open to all, and around 250 people participated.
