The Department of English, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) in collaboration with the Albertian Centre for Culture and Heritage conducted a fascinating virtual Onam celebration with the title ’NALL’ONAM’ NINN’ONAM’ – A festival of masks. In connection with the celebration, the department conducted three intercollegiate competitions.

The first competition was ‘PicOnam Pokkonam 2K20’ in which the participants were asked to take a picture related to Onam. The second competition was ‘MaskOnam 2K20’  in which the participants were asked to creatively paint masks pertaining to the theme of Onam. The third contest was titled ‘Onathallu’ in which participants were asked to impersonate Mahabali and speak for 2 minutes, reacting to his land being affected by a pandemic.

This virtual Onam aimed at spreading awareness to stay home and celebrate Onam safely – “Stay Home, stay safe. We will survive.”
