Archbishop Joseph Attipetty Memorial Scholarship for B. Voc. & M. Voc. Students

Servant of God Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Attipetty, Ph.D., S.T.D., LL.D., is the founder patron of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam. He is the first indigenous Archbishop of Verapoly Archdiocese. The College has instituted Archbishop Joseph Attipetty Memorial Scholarship for B Voc & M Voc Students who have joined the college from the year 2020 onwards.

*This scholarship is given for the students who are admitted to St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) from the academic year 2020-2021 onwards. Marks scored for the previous semester examination is counted for each semester.

How to apply

The application with necessary documents should be submitted to the head of Aided/Govt. institutions (School and Colleges) before 31st October of every year. The head of institution will verify and submit the application through online portal to Executive Director, Kerala Social Security Mission. Children below 5 yrs. can directly apply to Executive Director, Kerala Social Security Mission through the respective child welfare committees.

Post metrics scholarships for minorities

Rate of Scholarship	An amount equivalent to Admission and Course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subjected to a maximum ceiling. See Instructions for details.
Eligibility Condition
	a) Should be the First Year student of i. Plus Two/ UG/ PG/ Ph.D Course of Higher Secondary School/ College/ Institutes/ University, which is either a Govt/ Aided/Recognised Unaided Institution. OR ii. 11th Class/Technical/ Vocational Course of ITI/ITC Centres affiliated to NCVT. OR iii. Course, other than those listed in under merit-cum-means scholarship scheme. The names of courses listed under Merit-cum-means scholarship are given in See Instructions for details.
	b. Should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
	c. Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination.
	d. The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
	e. Should not be availing any other Scholarship or Stipend.
Other Relevant Information
	b. Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.

State Merit Scholarship

Rate and Number of Scholarships:
	Graduation Rs. 1250/- per annum (300 Nos)
	Post Graduation Rs. 1,500/- per annum (150 Nos.)
Eligibility Conditions:
	Should be a first year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments.
	Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.

MGS Renewal

Rate and Number of Scholarships:
	Under Graduates: Rs. 5,000/- per annum (3,000 Nos).
	Post Graduates: Rs. 6,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
	Professional Courses: Rs. 7,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
	Hostel Stipend: Rs. 13,000/- per annum (2,000 Nos).

HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

The very concept of instituting scholarships to meritorious students to pursue higher education was an offshoot of the declared motto of the Kerala State Higher Education Council; that is to bring about equity and excellence in higher education sector. Act 22 of 2007, by which the KSHEC was set up, empowers the council to evolve schemes for providing equitable opportunities for higher education through scholarships and free ships and financial assistance to the needy students. Invoking the foregoing provision of the Higher Education Council Act, a unique Higher Education Scholarship Scheme was framed and launched in 2009. One thousand first year undergraduate students who pursue studies in science, humanities, social science, and business study streams in Government/Aided Colleges and Universities of the State are selected for the scholarships every year. The scholarships of the awardees so selected would be renewed in the ensuing years till they complete their post graduation. Students pursuing professional courses are not eligible for Higher Education Scholarships of the Council.
The Higher Education Scholarship Scheme is a continuing and regular programme introduced by the Council in 2009, for the benefit of students undergoing non-professional courses in Universities and govt./aided colleges in the state. It is a scholarship scheme primarily intended to attract excellent students to various disciplines in Basic Sciences, Human Sciences (Humanities & Social Sciences) and Business Studies.

The general feedback of the scheme received over the years from student community, parents and academic fraternity is encouraging. It is rated as one of the most popular scheme implemented in the higher education sector of our State during the last decade. On an average around 25,000 fresh undergraduate students apply for the Higher Education Scholarships of KSHEC every academic year. But, as the number fresh scholarships for each academic year is limited to 1000, only around 4% of the applicants get the scholarships. Though the popular demand is to double the number of scholarships, the Council has decided to put forward a proposal to increase the number of fresh scholarships (for first year undergraduate studies) to 1200 from 1000.
