St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, under the initiative of the Department of Chemistry made hand sanitizers for the college as well as for the public. The handy bottles of sanitizers were distributed to the public by the principal, the teaching, and the non-teaching staff. The college initiated this programme during the beginning of the spread of the Corona virus. It opened the eyes of the society regarding the inevitability of maintaining personal hygiene which is indispensable to fight the virus. As there was more demand for hand sanitizers, they were scarcely available and the prizes were also skyrocketing. St. Albert’s College’s initiative to provide sanitizers free of cost catered to the raising demands of the sanitizers. It was also a solace to those who could not afford the high prices of sanitizers.
