Located in the heart of the city Department of Commerce & Research Centre of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) has been providing quality education and training from 1963, its year of inception with the introduction of B.Com degree course. Subsequently, M.com degree course was started in the year 1981, the department took a mile by establishing its research centre in the year 1998 being digitally occupied and well equipped with various other facilities like the incubation centre, placement cell, department exclusive library & IEDC. We stand out as the most sought after institution for commerce.

Department at a glance


The Department of Commerce and Research Center, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam was established in 1963 with the B.Com programme and it is one of the most demanded courses in the contemporary academic world. The department started the Master’s degree programme in 1981 and in the year 1998, the department became an approved research centre under Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The Department is enriched by 7 regular staff members and is dedicated in providing aspiring students with a wide range of professional and interpersonal skills in the field of finance, accounting, business studies and research.

The Department has a rich curriculum and allied activities to provide a comprehensive education for commerce education. Our Department has recorded constant improvement in its academic , placement of performance and research. The Department seeks to combine excellence in education with service to the industry. The increasing number of applicants year by year for the Commerce Undergraduate Programme and for Masters Programme is an evidence for the efficiency of the Department
