SEBI GLOBAL MONEY WEEK WEBINAR
The Department in association with the Securities and Exchange Board of India conducted a webinar on ‘Financial Education’ for the first year students of B Com Taxation (Regular) as a part of Global Money Week on 23rd March 2021 at 10 A M. Dr Reji M A, Principal (Retd), St Peter’s College, Kolenchery was the resource person. The webinar was conducted with the intent to impart financial education to the students attending it so that they can plan and make wise and sound financial decisions. The webinar gave those who attended it the information regarding the topics varying from the basics for making a financial investment/decision to the various cautions that has to be followed while making a financial decision.

FINANCIAL EDUCATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH SEBI
On September 17, 2019, Department of Commerce and Research Centre of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) organized a seminar on financial education in association with SEBI in room no.105, Emmanuel hall. The resource person of the day was Dr. Reji M.A, Principal of St. Peter’s College, Kollencherry. Dr. Reji started the session by listing out the mistakes that people make regarding financial investment and the need for financial education. He spoke about the basics of savings and investment, and its related products. He talked about different tax savings options and also mentioned about Ponzi scheme. He gave a brief idea about financial planning and asset allocation strategy, and gave some tips on finance for entrepreneurs.
